Turkey Seeks Stronger Ties With West Africa As President Visits Ivory Coast And Ghana

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan arrived in Ivory Coast on Sunday, for a 48-hour visit, the first stage of a tour of West Africa to strengthen ties with the region. He has arrived in Ghana today and is expected to hold bilateral talks with Ghana’s President John Dramani Mahama on Tuesday before visiting the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial park with his wife. Ghana is the third trade partner of Turkey in sub-saharan Africa after South Africa and Nigeria. Erdogan is later expected to head to Nigeria and Guinea respectively. Click here to read more.
