Washington, DC – Concerned Citizens and friends of Zimbabwe Activists will mark Zimbabwe Independence Day with a "Respect People’s Voices —MUGABE MUST GO NOW" Protest at the Zimbabwe Embassy in Washington DC.

WHO:  Zimbabwe Activists, Citizens and Friends
WHAT:  Protest Zimbabwe’s government to respect people’s voices
WHEN:  Friday, April 18th from 2:00PM to 5:00PM
WHERE:  Zimbabwe Embassy, 1608 New Hampshire Ave NW, Washington DC 20009.

World-wide pressure is mounting on the Zimbabwe Government to stop the use of torture against unarmed political activists.  The protest will highlight the concerns over the adverse effects the interference by ZANU(PF) with the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) is bring to the country. The continued interference is causing anxiety, unrest, socio-economic stagnation, and is Activists and citizens strongly protest policies that results into victimization of innocent people.

Protesters demand that Zimbabwe respect peace, fundamental freedoms and respect for the people’s will and strive for peace and fundamental freedoms.
