AfricanLiberty Events: Tom Palmer in Kenya as Africa embraces Liberty.

 

The October 11-20, 2012 event witnessed another great drive in accomplishing the mission to a prosperous Africa with outreaches in Kenya. Tom G.Palmer was the Keynote speaker at the collaborative seminar with Kabarak University.Naguru-Kenya with over 700 people in attendance at the school’s law auditorium. He also had a special session with the Post Graduate students of the same school while Adedayo Thomas took charge of the undergraduate students’. Forty (40) titles of Libertarian text books were donated to the school library.

 

African Liberty Students’ Organisation (ALSO) induction and outreach program was equally held at the Kenya Institute of Social Works and Community Development with 146 students in attendance. Books were equally donated to the school library and the new club was empowered with resources to start off.

 

At the Marist University in Karen-Kenya, a new collaboration was accepted by the Principal and the Dean of Business School and outreach program set for the following session. The principal requested for the introduction and facilitation of Libertarian courses in the Business School. Books were also donated to the library after the meeting.

 

200 copies each of the “Voices from Africa” and “Free Markets and Justice” were distributed to students and scholars from different schools in Kenya. From the Nigeria office, the African Edition book of the Morality of Capitalism re-titled “Free Markets and Justice” with foreword from Obiageli Ezekwesili was presented to the media at an occasion attended by 32 students from 4 tertiary institutions and journalists. The event was anchored by Olumayowa and the book edited by Adedayo Thomas who sent in this report.
