Nigeria’s parliament has agreed to send a delegation to Saudi Arabia to assess the president’s health. President Umaru has been in a Saudi hospital undergoing heart treatment since November last year. It took an interview with the president by a BBC correspondent to hear directly from the president since he left the country. From the interview it was clear the president is alive and he said he is hoping to recover early enough to return to the helm of affairs.
Nigerians were however not pleased with the interview and want a personal and up close contact with the president. The real state of the president continues to remain a mystery. A group yesterday went on demonstration demanding that power be handed over to the Vice president to help check corruption going in government organizations because of the absence of the president.
