Well governed democracies do not lack internal critics. It only means people expect things to be much better. It seems asking for a modicum of good life in certain pariah states is a waste of time until drastic change occurs. Many wish things could be relatively better in Zimbabwe, at least when compared with the rest of Africa.
Rejoice Ngwenya, relates a personal story of daily struggle in Mugabe’s den. Publishing this article is a contributory reminder to those who love Zimbabwe to steer clear of Mugabe’s veiled patriotic songs.

Africa Policy Experts and International Think-Tanks Challenge Labour Debt Relief Bill

Joint letter urges Members of Parliament to support greater accountability in the developing world

ACCRA – A group of experts from leading international and African-based public policy organizations today issued a challenge to controversial proposed legislation backed by the Labour government which will severely curtail the ability of commercial creditors to recover debts owed by 40 Heavily Indebted Poor Countries. The experts urged Members of Parliament to oppose this legislation and instead encourage better governance in the developing world, and greater attention to poverty alleviation through expanded private investment and trade.

This year, sixty-two international organizations, including IMANI partnered with the Property Rights Alliance in Washington, DC and its Hernando de Soto Fellowship program to produce the fourth annual IPRI.
